<image:caption>Houston Rockets Training Facility is a premier professional athletic campus designed to support elite training operations through a functional, durable, and visually cohesive site environment. BLA provided landscape architectural services for the Houston Rockets Training Facility and the adjacent Landry's Headquarters, including the design of planting, irrigation, and the signature hardscape plaza at the facility's main entrance. BLA collaborated with the project team on the design and layout of the outdoor practice training hill, strategically incorporating perimeter landscaping to create a functional, screened, and private training environment that integrates with the overall campus. The design emphasized preservation of the site's mature perimeter oak trees wherever feasible, integrating them into the landscape to enhance the campus character while protecting an established natural asset. New perimeter plantings were strategically arranged to provide screening and privacy for facility users while maintaining an attractive streetscape. The planting design also carefully considered the operational requirements of the on-site helicopter landing pad, maintaining appropriate clear zones while utilizing low-maintenance, drought-tolerant plantings suited to Houston's climate. An efficient irrigation system was designed to promote long-term landscape health and water conservation. The completed project delivers a resilient, high-performance landscape that balances aesthetics, functionality, safety, sustainability, and maintainability while supporting the operational needs of a world-class athletic and corporate campus.</image:caption>

<image:title>Projects - CenterPoint Energy in El Campo, Texas - Project Highlights</image:title>
<image:caption>CenterPoint Energy – El Campo is a utility operations facility designed with a landscape plan that enhances the site's appearance while providing durable, low-maintenance improvements suited for long-term operations. The project included landscape architecture services for planting, irrigation, site lighting, flagpole placement, and decorative paver pads, resulting in a cohesive and welcoming entrance while meeting all applicable code requirements. An innovative aspect of the design was the strategic use of cut material generated from the detention pond to create landscaped berms along the roadway frontage. This solution provided effective screening of the facility, reduced the quantity of required shrubs, allowed for a more creative serpentine planting layout, and created a more attractive streetscape. Plant selections were chosen for their adaptability to local growing conditions, ease of maintenance, and year-round visual interest. The completed project successfully balanced operational functionality with enhanced curb appeal and sustainable design, earning the Keep El Campo Beautiful Award presented by Joy Roppolo and the Bee's Beautification Organization in recognition of its positive contribution to the community.</image:caption>

<image:title>Projects - FBC Elections Administration Facility in Rosenberg, Texas - Project Highlights</image:title>
<image:caption>Fort Bend County Elections Administration Facility in Rosenberg, Texas is a civic-use project designed to provide a clean, secure, and welcoming landscape environment that supports public access while meeting the operational needs of a government facility. The landscape design emphasizes durability, sustainability, and long-term performance while creating an attractive civic presence for visitors and staff. The design utilizes a palette of native and adapted plant materials selected for resilience, seasonal interest, and low-maintenance performance. To enhance the pedestrian experience, BLA incorporated tree grates that allow canopy trees to be integrated within paved walkways and plazas, providing shade and reducing heat buildup in high-use pedestrian areas. The team also strategically utilized on-site soils to create landscaped berms that add visual interest, establish planting hierarchy, and minimize the need for export fill while enhancing the overall character of the site. Planting areas reinforce building entrances, pedestrian circulation, and parking areas while maintaining clear visibility and site security. An efficient irrigation system supports healthy plant establishment and long-term sustainability, resulting in a functional, attractive, and environmentally responsible landscape that reflects the importance of this public facility.</image:caption>

<image:caption>NexMetro Railhead is a Build-To-Rent (BTR) residential community in Cleburne, Texas featuring a coordinated landscape and amenity design that integrates outdoor living spaces, recreational amenities, and streetscape improvements into a cohesive neighborhood environment. BLA collaborated with the City of Cleburne to coordinate the streetscape design along Cleburne Station and Railhead Parkway, ensuring the developer-installed improvements seamlessly matched the character and design of the surrounding public streetscape. BLA designed the community's amenity spaces to create inviting destinations for recreation and social gathering. The pool area features a sun shelf, elevated spa, built-in seating, fire pit, shade structure, and coordinated hardscape that provide a resort-style experience for residents. Complementing these spaces are an outdoor kitchen, benches, bike racks, sidewalks, retaining walls, and coordinated fencing and gates that reinforce functionality, security, and circulation throughout the development. BLA also designed the community's monument signage and entry features to establish a distinctive identity and create an inviting arrival experience for residents and visitors. The landscape design utilizes a durable, deer resistant, low-maintenance planting palette that enhances both the residential streetscape and amenity areas while reinforcing a cohesive community character. As part of the project, BLA also prepared leasing diagrams based on private yard sizes, providing a valuable planning tool to support the client's leasing and marketing efforts. <image:title>Projects - MUD 460 Recreation Master Plan in Harris County, Texas - Project Highlights</image:title>
<image:caption>Harris County MUD No. 460 Recreation Master Plan is a comprehensive planning initiative that establishes a long-term vision for parks, trails, recreation, and open space throughout the district. BLA worked closely with the District to evaluate existing facilities, identify future recreational opportunities, and develop a phased implementation strategy that enhances connectivity, promotes healthy lifestyles, and maximizes the value of district-owned land. A cornerstone of the master plan is the T2 Trail, a signature shared use path that has generated significant community support and regional partnerships. The project has received pledged funding from the local TIRZ 8 and continues to build momentum through collaboration with multiple public agencies and community stakeholders. The master plan also envisions a future community center designed to serve as a central gathering place for residents, with strong partnership interest from neighboring organizations to expand recreational programming and community services. Beyond these signature initiatives, the master plan identifies opportunities for destination parks, dog park, nature-based recreation, playgrounds, fitness amenities, neighborhood gathering spaces, and enhanced detention pond corridors that integrate recreation with existing drainage infrastructure. Serving as a roadmap for future capital improvements, the plan prioritizes projects, identifies grant funding opportunities, and guides long-term implementation, positioning the District to leverage partnerships and outside funding to transform its vision into lasting community assets.</image:caption>

<image:title>Projects - MUD 130 Recreation Master Plan in Harris County, Texas - Project Highlights</image:title>
<image:caption>Harris County MUD No. 130 Recreation Master Plan establishes a forward-looking vision for expanding the District's parks, trails, and recreational amenities while leveraging existing infrastructure to create a more connected and sustainable community. Through site analysis, stakeholder collaboration, and evaluation of existing facilities, BLA identified opportunities to maximize district-owned properties, strengthen neighborhood connectivity, and enhance residents' quality of life. The master plan incorporated an extensive community input gathering phase through both digital surveys and in-person engagement during National Night Out, ensuring the recommendations reflect resident priorities and the District's long-term vision. The master plan evaluates existing parks, detention facilities, easements, and open spaces to identify opportunities for new trails, playgrounds, fitness amenities, gathering spaces, wet-bottom pond, and recreational destinations that improve connectivity throughout the community. A key component of the plan explores the potential for reclaimed water reuse from the local wastewater treatment plant to serve future irrigation systems and watering needs, promoting long-term sustainability and reducing potable water demand. The plan also identifies opportunities for multi-use trails along Harris County Flood Control District channels, creating safe, off-street connections between surrounding residential neighborhoods and local elementary and high schools to encourage walking, bicycling, and Safe Routes to School. The completed master plan provides the District with a phased implementation strategy that prioritizes capital improvements, supports future grant funding opportunities, and guides long-term budgeting and decision-making. By integrating recreation, environmental stewardship, infrastructure, and community connectivity, the plan serves as a roadmap for creating a connected, sustainable, and vibrant park system that will benefit the community for years to come.</image:caption>

<image:title>Projects - Lake Forest Utility District Recreation Master Plan in Harris County, Texas - Project Highlights</image:title>
<image:caption>Lake Forest Utility District Recreation Master Plan provides a strategic blueprint for expanding recreational opportunities and enhancing the District's network of parks, trails, and open spaces. Developed through site analysis, stakeholder collaboration, and evaluation of existing amenities, the plan identifies practical, phased improvements that strengthen community connectivity, maximize the use of district-owned properties, and position the District to pursue future grant funding and partnership opportunities that support implementation. The plan evaluates existing parks, ROWs, and undeveloped tracts to identify opportunities for new recreational amenities, trail connections, neighborhood gathering spaces, nature-based improvements, playgrounds, fitness areas, picnic spaces, and strategic landscape enhancements designed to create a connected system of outdoor destinations while making efficient use of existing public infrastructure and open space. The master plan provides the District with a prioritized implementation strategy that supports future capital improvements, grant funding opportunities, and long-term budgeting. It also serves as a valuable communication tool for engaging local agencies, community partners, and potential project sponsors by clearly illustrating the District's long-term vision and investment priorities. By balancing recreation, environmental stewardship, maintenance considerations, and fiscal responsibility, the plan establishes a roadmap for creating a cohesive park system that will benefit residents for years to come.</image:caption>

<image:title>Projects - Cypress Bible Church in Cypress, Texas - Project Highlights</image:title>
<image:caption>Cypress Bible Church in Cypress, Texas represents the first project completed by Buckson Landscape Architecture (BLA), establishing the firm's foundation for thoughtful, client-focused landscape design. The landscape was designed to create a welcoming campus environment while supporting the functional needs of a high-traffic church facility and reinforcing the architectural character of the site. The planting plan establishes a clean, organized landscape framework using durable, low-maintenance plant materials selected for long-term performance. Special consideration was given to both interior and exterior views from the large commons area windows, strategically framing attractive landscape vistas while enhancing the arrival experience and strengthening the visual connection between indoor gathering spaces and the surrounding campus. Construction Phase Services supported the project through coordination and oversight during installation, helping ensure the landscape was implemented in accordance with the design intent, including planting layout, irrigation functionality, and overall site integration throughout the construction process.</image:caption>

<image:title>Projects - Rolling Fork in Houston, Texas - Project Highlights</image:title>
<image:caption>Rolling Fork is a neighborhood enhancement project in Houston, Texas, that revitalized key gathering spaces and identity markers through coordinated landscape architecture, branding, and recreational improvements. Buckson Landscape Architecture's founder, Amanda Buckson, developed a cohesive design strategy that strengthened neighborhood identity while enhancing the functionality, appearance, and long-term value of shared amenities. Completed as a pro bono initiative, the project included updated community entry signage, new monument signage for the neighborhood park, refreshed plantings and irrigation at the community center and enhancements to the existing playground and recreation areas. New play equipment and outdoor fitness stations were thoughtfully integrated into the park to expand recreational opportunities and encourage healthy, active lifestyles for residents of all ages. Landscape improvements surrounding the signage and park amenities created an attractive, welcoming environment while reinforcing wayfinding and the neighborhood's visual character. By combining identity enhancements with recreational improvements, the project transformed everyday public spaces into more inviting destinations for residents and visitors. The completed improvements established a cohesive visual identity, improved functionality, and created lasting value while fostering neighborhood pride and supporting long-term community investment.</image:caption>
