Amanda Buckson, PLA, LI
Amanda Buckson founded BLA in 2022 with a clear vision: to bring high-quality expertise and genuine client partnership to commercial landscape architecture projects in the Houston area.
Amanda began her career in residential design in 2001 before moving into commercial work in 2003 which was a path that gave her a complete perspective on how landscapes are designed, documented, and built. After more than a decade with one of the area's leading firms, she launched BLA to build something of her own: a practice where every client gets her experience directly applied to their project.

Cathleen Lynch, ASLA
Director of Operations
Cathleen Lynch is a bilingual landscape architecture professional and Texas ASLA member with experience in the industry since 2003, specializing in commercial landscape design, master planning, and project management. A Texas A&M graduate, she built her career leading large-scale public and private projects before founding her own consulting practice and joining BLA as Director of Operations. Catt brings a keen design sensibility, deep technical expertise, and a client-focused approach to every project she touches.

Nicholas Kosmas
Project Manager
Nicholas Kosmas is a University of Houston-trained architect and project manager with experience in the industry since 2006, spanning landscape architecture, environmental design, and construction. He takes a holistic, multidisciplinary approach to every project, championing inclusivity, ecological consciousness, and sustainability as core design principles. At BLA, Nicholas leads project teams from concept through completion, ensuring that each design thoughtfully integrates the built environment with the natural world.

Mathilde Barragan
Project Coordinator
Mathilde Barragan is a licensed architect and visual artist from Quito, Ecuador, holding a Bachelor of Architecture and a minor in Photography from Universidad San Francisco de Quito. At BLA, she brings a creative eye and technical precision to construction documentation, 3D renderings, and design visualizations across a range of municipal and community projects. Mathilde’s background in architecture, photography, and rendering software allows her to bring designs to life with clarity and artistry at every stage of a project.

Walter Segovia
Landscape Designer
Walter Segovia is a Texas A&M-trained landscape architect whose career bridges over a decade of real-world contracting experience with a formal design education and a passion for environmental resilience. Before joining BLA, he successfully grew his own landscaping business from 35 to 93 clients through quality workmanship and client relationships, giving him a grounded, practical perspective that informs his design work. Bilingual in English and Spanish, Walter specializes in planting design, irrigation systems, and sustainable site planning for residential, commercial, and public landscapes.

Quade Clark
Landscape Designer
Quade Clark is a Texas A&M graduate holding a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (Cum Laude) and a Master of Science in Business Administration, bringing a rare combination of design talent and strategic business acumen to his work. His education and professional internship experience have equipped him with skills in site planning, landscape design, visualization, graphic communication, and brand development. At BLA, Quade applies creativity, technical precision, and a collaborative approach to support the planning and design of parks, trails, land development, and other public and private projects.

Lauren Martinez
Business Operations Coordinator
Lauren Martinez holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Binghamton University and applies her understanding of people, systems, and communication to every aspect of BLA’s business operations. She supports the firm across proposal development, client coordination, business development, and internal systems, serving as the organizational backbone that keeps projects moving from pursuit to delivery. Lauren brings a thoughtful, detail-oriented approach to her work and a genuine passion for sustainable design and the communities BLA serves.
